National Education Policy 2020 is a comprehensive framework to guide the development of education in the country.

Teaching is a noblest profession and most respected but very few great teachers could get this respect and dignity which they deserved and we are hopeful with the New Education policy 2020, all the teachers would be able to get the place in country which they deserve.

A facilitator is a person who is focused and who is passionate about teaching and as with new policy where a teacher had to undergo certain trainings and assessments (i.e. TET, NTA, 50 Hrs CPD) only such teachers who are open to learn continuously would achieve and be able to become a teacher.

As per NEP teacher had to equip themselves with the latest technology, trainings and assessments which would help them to develop them professionally qualified and motivated towards teaching, it would also strengthened them in their pedagogies .

The teachers of all subjects would be given equal respect as the equal respect given to each subjects like art, physical education, vocational education, and languages. The teachers would not be biased to choose the subjects which would give them more return in terms of incentives but they can choose the subject which they are more passionate about.

Teachers need to undergo minimum degree Qualification for teaching .i.e. 4 year integrated B.ED degree by a multidisciplinary institution which would created a standardized learning and training for the teachers which includes most recent techniques in pedagogies.

Due to technology transparency there would be fewer transfers which would helps the students as well as the teachers who are the role models of the students will be able to contribute in their learning and they also have appropriate time to understand the child’s ability.

Teachers would have more autonomy in choosing the pedagogy for the class room teaching which would encourage them to get the innovative ideas and pedagogies as per the students in the class and not rigidly as per the curriculum.

Institutions need to change the hiring process as they need to hire the teachers as per their capability and talents and the professionally qualified teachers who would get the deserved incentives and salary instead of sacrificing the quality education for less salary.

Due to this policy teachers are supposed to do the job of teaching for which they are being appointed and not to undergo such tasks, which they are not supposed to do like doing surveys and mid day meal tasks which would make them more focused and confident as well as they themselves feel more dignified professionals.

Doing trainings and continuous learning would provide teachers self development which would make them motivated, inspired and confident towards their job and more participative towards serving the student’s up to the mark.

Providing the adequate and safe infrastructure working toilets, clean drinking water, and appropriate space will also motivate the young learners to opt for this profession who are passionate and believe in making the changes in the lives of the students who are future of nation.

The outstanding teachers would be rewarded and been given the promotions too, salary raises as per the achievement and not as per the tenure that too in single school stage and at all stages of the school the school education would require the best quality teachers and no stage would be considered less important which would encourage the teacher to do the best in every stage.

As to accomplish all these the existing teachers need to come out of their comfort zone and need to accept that learning is not only involved with the students but also the teachers need to be the continuous learners to be an efficient teachers. Now the teaching profession is not as once entered you are lifelong salaried person but being a teacher you need to be passionate and a keen learner to survive in the coming era.
